Park City Fly Fishing |
|
Park City fly fishing is some of the finest in the West, with an abundance of trout, rivers, streams, guides, and outfitters. If you’re coming to the Waldorf Astoria Park City, make sure you pack your rod and your waders and plan for some of the most scenic fishing you’ve ever enjoyed. One of the top blue ribbon fly fishing waters in North America is the Provo River, just a short drive from the Waldorf Astoria Park City. Fly fishing on the Upper Provo, a free flowing stream, is for cutthroat and brook trout among some of the most breathtaking scenery in the region. The Middle Provo starts below Jordonelle Dam, and is a tailwater fishery with stable temperatures that support wild brown trout and occasional rainbows and cutthroats feeding on the prolific Western green drake, midge, baetis, caddis, stonefly, and pale morning dun hatches. The Middle Provo is a delight to fish all year round. Below Deer Creek Reservoir, the Lower Provo provides another tailwater fishery rich with big browns and rainbows. Another Park City fly fishing treasures is the Weber River, a blue ribbon stream that begins at the head of Weber Canyon. Although the river flows primarily through private land, the land owners allow public access along a 10-mile stretch between Wanship and Echo. The easy access and heavy population of brown trout, cutthroat, and some rainbow trout make this stretch of the Weber River especially appropriate for family fishing. So pack the dry flies and rods for the whole family, and enjoy some fine Park City fly fishing. |
